The Collingwood School Alumni Association was created under the Bylaws of the Collingwood School Society (the "Society”). The Society operates Collingwood School.

Part 16 of the Bylaws of the Society provides as follows:

16.1 There shall be an Alumni Association to be known as the "Collingwood School Alumni Association”.

16.2 The members of the Alumni Association are

       (a) every graduate of the School, and every other former student of the School who left in good standing from the School,

       (b) every parent or guardian of a graduate or other former student of the School described in paragraph (a), provided that the parent or guardian is in good standing, and

       (c) every former employee of the Society.

16.3 For the purposes of

       (a) paragraph 16.2(a), a former student of the School left in good standing from the School unless the former student was expelled from the School, and

       (b) paragraph 16.2(b), a parent or guardian is in good standing unless the parent or guardian is indebted to the Society and failed to pay such indebtedness as and when due.

16.4 The purposes of the Alumni Association are to

       (a) foster continuing association between the School and the Alumni, and among Alumni, and

       (b) support the Society and the School.

16.5 The Alumni shall elect from among themselves every three years a Chair of the Alumni Association for a three year term, and such other officers as the Alumni may determine each for a three year term, which elections will occur in accordance with procedures established by the Alumni Association and approved by the Board of Governors.

Bylaw 2.2 of the Society further provides that the following persons shall be members of the Society:

       (a) any graduate or other former student of the School who was a Member on November 18, 2002 and has not subsequently ceased to be a Member;

       (b) any graduate or other former student of the School who was not a Member on November 18, 2002 and who

            (i) is an Alumnus, and

            (ii) has applied in writing sent to the Secretary of the Society to become a Member,

        provided that no such applicant will become a Member until 180 days after the applicant so applies;

It is not a requirement to be a member of the Collingwood School Society in order to be a member of the Collingwood School Alumni Association; however alumni who were not members of the Society as of November 18, 2002 and who wish to become members are welcome to apply to join the Society.

Membership in the will allow you to attend and vote at the Annual General Meeting of the Collingwood School Society, held generally in November of each year.
